When I received the task of creating any visual promotion of the manifesto, I chose to angle the brief to what expectations and attitudes are towards graphic design. In the text by Ken Garland, he claims that graphic designers are only used for commercial purposes and that it is many designers out there who do not reach their full potential. Having read through the manifesto, I did some research around designers and graphic artists who have been important over the years. I looked at everything from controversial design to purely commercial work. Through this, I got a better idea of what graphic design is to me and I made this poster series.
